WP No Category Base

Description:

As the name suggests this plugin will completely remove the mandatory ‘Category Base’ from your category permalinks ( e.g. `myblog.com/category/my-category/` to `myblog.com/my-category/`.

The plugin requires no setup or modifying core wordpress files and will not break any links.

WP Decoratr

WP Decoratr automatically finds images relevant to your post content from Flickr to spice up your posts.

WP Decoratr is very easy to use and doesn’t need any configuration. It will add a panel on the “Write Post” page. Compose your post as usual and click “Get Images” when you’re done. WP Decoratr will analyse your post content and suggest several matching images. Just click on an image to insert it in your post.

WP Status Notifier

Description:

WP Status Notifier will sent a notification to given email address(es) of posts pending review by contributors. It can also optionally notify the contributors when their post is accepted or rejected. WP Status Notifier is very useful for moderation in blogs with multiple contributors.

The plugin will add an options page in the Wordpress administration area where you can set one or more email addresses to notified of posts pending review.

Features:

  1. No need to manually check for posts waiting for approval.
  2. Includes a link in the email to edit and/or approve the post in the notification email.
  3. Optionally notifies contributors of the moderation status.
  4. The plugin requires no database access and adds almost zero overhead.
  5. Simple configuration options. Doesn’t require editing any .php files.

Installation:

  1. Upload `status-notifier.php` to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. To configure the plugin go to Options>Status Notifications in the Wordpress administration area

WP Captcha-Free

Description:

WP Captcha-Free blocks comment spam by using a combination of time-based hash (a.k.a. Time Based Tokens, TBT) and JavaScript (AJAX). When a comment is posted the plugin validates a hash based on time (and some other parameters). Comments posted via automated means will not have a hash or will have an expired hash and will be rejected. Unlike using a captcha, this does not place any burden on the commenter.

Additionally, WP Captcha-Free uses ajax to get the hash only when the form is submitted instead of adding it statically to the page (which is cached by caching plugins). This adds another layer of security and makes it compatible with caching plugins like WP-Cache.

  2. Works without inconveniencing visitors with CAPTCHAs, challenge questions, etc.

Installation:

Just download the .zip file and upload the file ‘captcha-free.php’ to your ‘/wp-content/plugins’ directory. Now login to the Wordpress administration area and activate it under the “Plugins” section. That’s it! WP Captcha-Free will start blocking comment spam behind the scenes.

WP Auto Tagger

This plugin uses the Yahoo API to suggest tags based on the post content. The plugin will add a `Suggest Tags` button to the `Write Post` page sidebar.
